Citizens protest the abuses of doctors in front of the Ministry of Health: “What cannot be bought with money, can be bought with more money”

This afternoon a protest was held again in front of the Albanian Ministry of Health, after the published wiretapping where the abuses of some doctors of the Oncology hospital were discovered.

Citizens were scandalized by the published conversations, where some Oncology doctors bargained with people’s lives for financial profit.
As in previous protests, citizens surrounded the Ministry of Health with the banner “Ministry of Death”.
The protest seems a follow up of the one one week ago when hundreds of citizens responded to the calls of activists after the discovery that some doctors and Oncology specialists at the “Mother Teresa” Hospital Center in Tirana, in cooperation with each other, abused their duties with tumor patients, orienting them towards private hospitals for the purpose of financial benefit.
Protesters surrounded the gate of the Ministry of Health with the banner “Ministry of Death”, as they demanded the resignation of the head of this ministry as well as the head of the “Mother Teresa” hospital center.
The Tirana court has given some measures of “house arrest” and “obligation to appear” for the doctors of the Oncology hospital involved in the wiretapping scandal.
