PM Rama inaugurates the great bridge in Kukës, mocks the criticism of the opposition
The big bridge of Kukës over the Drini rivër in northern Albania, was opened this Monday for citizens.
Designed by the Italian architect Giorgio Rizzo, the New Bridge provides a solution to an old node connecting the two sides of the river with the national road, replacing the existing old bridge and facilitating traffic in this area.
Albanian prime Minister Edi Rama along with Deputy Minister Belinda Balluku was today at the inauguration of the new bridge and the opening of traffic for the area.
“Now it is very important that the bridge opens and opens for everyone, even for those who left nothing unsaid about it. Thanks to the talent and experience of the Italian designer, but also thanks to the work done by the company, the bridge is already ready.
“And in the meantime, after the bridge was finished, the conditions had to be met for two or three other communities around this area, which had to be given access in order to guarantee the ease of transportation for them. So today we are on the beautiful sunny day of the opening of the bridge.
“From the point of view of the route, the road was opened with these terrible jams here at the entrance to the city of Kukes and in the area where those other bridges were built, but from the point of view of volumes and guarantees and standards, only half the volume of work was done”, Rama said, among other things at the inauguration.
