Farmers exhibit their produce at the Korça apple festival, but every year the market remains a problem

Korça apples are one of the most popular products of this south-eastern Albanian region and every fall the Apple Festival is organized in the village of Dvoran.

After a tiring work and cultivating and harvesting, the farmers exhibit the different apple varieties with the aim of promoting them as well as increasing the market and exposure.
But year after year farmers are faced with the problem of lack of market, low prices and damages from natural and unnatural phenomena. This year they tell that apple production has been relatively good, but again the price continues to be low and the market is weak.
The event is organized in the traditional village of apple cultivation, and in addition to the entertainment activities, did not lack the various apple dishes or its by-products.
The district of Korça has about 4000 hectares planted with apples and every year an average about 100 thousand tons are produced.
