Efforts continue to extinguish the wildfires in Dropull Municipality, situation also problematic in villages of Finiq

Work has started again to put out the flames in the villages of the Municipality of Dropulli, which have been active for days in the south of Albania.

There are helicopters, firefighters and 30 members of the Armed Forces on the ground, the authorities report.
Meanwhile, the situation is also problematic in the villages of Pecë and Kardhikaq, in the neighboring municipality of Finiq.
“Under the coordination of the National Agency of Civil Protection, we are working with the firefighting forces and vehicles of the municipalities of Finiq, Delvina, Saranda, Dropull, Gjirokastër and Përmet, to stabilize the situation of the fires, created since yesterday,” the Ministry’s announcement states.
