PM Rama blames tourist operators for the increase in prices on the southern beaches: They no longer know what to do out of self-satisfaction
Prime Minister Edi Rama, with a harsh language, criticized the tourist operators of Vlora and the beaches of the south of Albania in general, that this summer have significantly increased the prices for tourists.
Rama invited businesses to reflect, citing as an example Bulgaria, where according to him, the immediate increase in prices turned into a ‘boomerang’.
“Vlora people fall into the pit of their pride. But it is shameful to create an absurd climate when we have just entered the best Mediterranean tourism ratings… Bulgaria made this sport earlier, but it could not return to the way it was”.
In the meeting with the mayors, the Prime Minister talked about more public beaches and asked for more work to clean them. Once again, Rama mentioned the municipality of Lezha as an example of cleanliness.
“The other important point is the public beaches, they are there and the people must know that. The public beach of Saranda is along the line of the entire city, managed by the municipality. We should try our best to let people know. Next year we will have to make another intervention regarding public spaces. Cleanup is better but still more needs to be done”, Rama added.
