Patient with autism spends three years searching for help, Fiks Fare program solves the problem

The show Fiks Fare on Top Channel brought tonight the case of a woman from Lushnja in southwestern Albania, who for 3 years has been wandering around the doors of institutions to shelter her sister who suffers from problems of the autistic spectrum.

The latter stayed with her parents until they tragically passed away, then she was alone for 3 years, so her sister, who lives with her family in Greece, was obliged to come.
Mimoza Sterkaj told journalists that no one was listening to her request.
“I went to Lushnje Municipality, they told me we will take it to Berat, I went to Berat and they told me that no one has communicated with them and so I am not finding a solution,” says Sterkaj.
“Fiks Fare” brought the ordeal of the lady who was rejected by the institutions.
Eventually Fiks Fare journalists asked for an answer from the Social Service of Lushnje Municipality, whose manager said that the procedures are being done for the sick person to go to Berat.
But it turned out differently, as soon as the journalists left the patient’s sister was informed that she would go to the Development Center in Shkodër in northern Albania.
The municipality of Lushnje did not even respond with the transport fees to Shkodër and this was done by the journalists of Fiks Fare.
“You did in 3 days what the state did not do for 3 years, I am grateful to you all my life,” said Mimoza while thanking the Fiks Fare journalists.
