Italy’s refugee camps in Albania are expected to open in November, construction work is ongoing
The works in Gjadër of Lezha for the construction of the refugee camp are reported to be continuing at a fast pace.
Sources inform that the first immigrants are expected to come to Albania within the months of October-November, according to the agreement for the reception of refugees in Italy, as sources inside the camp inform that the part of the accommodation inside the camp is ready.
In the back of the camp, as can be seen from the pictures, work is continuing on the completion of the surrounding wall, and most of the compartments are also ready. Electricity, water and sanitary services are being worked on. Since August 23 the camp has been secured by the Italian police and carabinieri.
The reception center in Shengjin is reported to be ready since June 5. This center will serve to complete the procedures after the arrival of the refugees from the port of Shengjin, and then they will be transferred to Gjadri after 48 hours.
