Agency sending Albanian workers to England takes their money and does not respond; after enquiery of Fiks Fare the money is returned
Fiks Fare program reported on Friday an agency which after taking money from citizens to send them as seasonal workers to England, did not respond and did not return the money.
But after the interest of the investigative show, the whistleblowers got their money back. Andi Josifi complained to the editorial office saying that he saw on social networks the ad of an agency called “Algheri”, with owner and administrator Mrs. Xerina Nasufi.
“The offices are on Kavaja street in Tirana, in a residential building on the fourth floor. In August, I went to this agency and applied to work in England as a farmer, in agriculture. they would issue me a work contract and I made a contract with this company. The contract was sent to me by e-mail. I filled it out online and sent it to them. My brother and a friend of his did the same. We met the owner Xerina only once, where she promised us that she would issue us a contract for England”, says Andi.
“But the 6-month deadline for the work ended in mid-June and the owner and the agency was nowhere to be seen. I went dozens of times to the offices, to social networks and no response from them. Neither the phone nor social networks. I want my money back. It was not much but it was mine,” says Andi, who also has other doubts.
“I doubt it’s a scheme, because even though we paid 350 euros, they will return only 300,000 lek. Who knows how many other people will have paid like me and got nothing. They didn’t bring us a contract, they dragged us, and we didn’t even get the money back,” he concludes.
After the complaint, Andi goes to the Agency on “Kavaja street”, but the office door was closed. No one answers, although he insists several times. He calls several phone numbers, some unavailable while another that is operational no one answers.
On the functional number registered at the National Business Center, Fiks Fare sends a message and after a few hours the owner Xherina Nasufi calls. Journalists report the problem and she replies that “was in the hospital, so I didn’t answer the customers”. The owner replied that she would see the contracts and get back to us. She asks for the names of the clients and that she will see the deadlines.
Meanwhile, a few days after the interest of Fiks Fare, the owner of the agency contacted the whistleblower, transferring the payment to his bank account. “For 1 year, she didn’t even answer me. After your interest, she contacted me directly and admitted that the deadline had passed. Fiks Fare solved this problem for me. The agency returned the money to me, to my brother and my brother’s friend”, states Andi, although the service for which he spent time and money was not provided.
